12 Sept 2008 - Photo Updates
Hi guys I am really sorry that it has taken me this long to edit the photos but all the galleries are now finished, please click on the "gallery" link.
13 Aug 2008 - Mimi and Bluebell both gone :(
Very sad day for me today as 2 of my kittens have left me. Bluebell has gone to Kim in Brisbane and Kyra to Claire in Melbourne. I am sure they will be very happy though. Buttercup is due to leave on Friday. Her new mum Donna is coming to pick her up.
Kitten professional photo shoot was done last Friday. If you have noticed I have updated my cattery front page. Below is a picture of all 5 kittens from the May litters. I will upload all edited photos soon so Kim, Claire, Donna and Gemma can purchase some photos if they wish to.
5 Aug 2008 - Kittens now 12 weeks and desexed
It's been a while since I have posted an update. The kittens are now 12 weeks old and they went for their desexing operation yesterday and it all went very well. I left the 4 girls (including Kyra from Columbine's litter together in the kitten tent so that they would rest without their respective mothers fussing over them. But then they bounced back just after 2am and starting to cause trouble! I had to put Kyra back into her room and then let Fuji back into the kitten tent so that order can be restored :)
I am intending to keep the girls until their stitches come off then they will be ready to be rehomed.
I have some photos from the Cat Show we went to on Sunday. Gemma (Mimi's mum now) came with me to the show and her entire family arrived a little later in the morning. The show was a little confusing and was not as well organised as the normal shows but we had a good time anyway. Mimi was awarded Best of Breed by Rhondda Watson (NSWCFA tutor judge) and went on to win 4th Best Kitten in the end. Bluebell was awarded Best of Breed by the other judge Theresa Imboden Johnson. But from looking at the judging it seems that both judges were definitely have trouble telling the kittens apart which indicated to us how similar they all were so I guess the Best of Breed title could have gone to any kitten really.
But anyway, it was a good try for the kittens as it really was a competiton between David and Golliath as the kittens were only 12 weeks old and they were literally competitng with kittens (cats??) 2x or even 3x their size and age. The kitten class is a competition for kittens from age 10 weeks to 9 months, so you can see how it is almost impossible for a tiny kitten of 12 weeks to get into the top 5 ranking. So well done little Mimi.
The litter was also awarded Best Litter by both judges and Best Litter in Show. So many other judges also came up to look at the kittens and told me how nice they were so we were all very proud indeed.
Senior Steward Stephanie was very excited about getting the kittens out for juding.
Judge Theresa Imdoden Johnson giving one of the kittens a tummy rub. She likes to call them chocolate box kittens.
I also have some photos of the kittens from the week before I went skiing. I think they were around 10 weeks then. Bluebell has been name Miss Feisty as we discovered that she has a fetish for feathers. We gave her a feather teaser that day and she just wouldnt let it go and would be really really upset if any of us tried to get it off her. She was so funny to watch.

10 July 2008 - Kittens 8 weeks now
So sorry that I havent had the time to take photos this week. Hopefully I will get some time on the weekend. I weighed the kittens tonight and they are all very healthy and have grown heaps. They are now over 700g and one fat little one (mimi) is 842g.
They survived their first vaccination and microchipping last week. None of the kittens had any issues. Mummy Fuji also had her annual booster and had an upset stomach as a result but she is now all fine.
I've updated the kitten weight chart if anyone is intersted.
28 June 2008 - Kittens 7 weeks tomorrow
The kittens will be 7 weeks tomorrow. They are now very active and are running around constantly. They are also playing with various toys now so I will probably do a proper photo shoot with thm next week.
Here are some photos from today and a week ago.

16 June 2008 - Kittens 5 weeks old
The kittens have started to munch on their solid food this week. The smallest kitten Mimi was the first one to get hooked and then slowly Buttercup followed on the 3rd day and Bluebell finally got the gist today.
Since Mimi chomped down all that food over the past 5 days, she is now officially the heaviest kitten in the litter. She was at one stage 50g behind fat Bluebell but she is now 10g heavier than Bluebell. Now that is impressive.
I know I have promised some pretty glamour photos. I will try and get some this week. They are still not really playing with feather teasers yet so it will be quite hard to get their attention. However, they do run wild and very very fast if you let them out of their kitten tent. I am anticipating a very hard photo shoot.
Will try and get some more videos too.
10 June 2008 - Kittens 4 weeks old
All is good in kittenland and the kittens are now 4 weeks. They are now running around and Fuji's nightmare starts all over again.
I will be introducing hard food this week (Royal Canin baby biscuits soaked in water, then mixed with milk powder with a little tuna juice from mum's food to make the elixir more enticing) so hopefully they will start eating that and gain even more weight.
A few of my friends came over during the long weekend and we took some photos of the bunch. We brought down Princess Kyra (her new name) and Mr Dinky so all the kittens can play together. You will see that at once stage all the kittens were trying to feed on Fuji (the public milk bar) and she was being so good and was happy to comply.

1 June 2008 - Kittens 3 weeks old
Hurray, we are now 3 weeks old. Everyone is almost 300g in weight. Bluebell is still the fattest and Mimi is still the most slender (she likes to keep her supermodel look).
They are very active this week so I have taken a lot of videos and photos. I am very sorry that i havent had the time to upload the new content so here are the photos and the videos.
As I was saying in the Columbine page that Isuggest that you guys subscribe to my Youtube channel so as soon as any new content is added you will be sent an email. http://www.youtube.com/user/aaralynburmillas - this is the link so go there and subscribe.

May 26 May 2008 - Kittens 2 weeks old
The kittens turned 2 weeks yesterday and they are all over 200g now.
I took the kittens out of their tent for the first time today and placed them next to the window for a bit of fresh air and sun. Please watch the video and meet them all.
23 May 2008 - vet visit
I took all the kittens and mums to the vet today to make sure that they are all on track. The vet was very happy with the condition of Fuji's kittens and commended her efforts in feeding the extra Columbine kitten as well. She was very calm during the whole process and sat with her kittens the entire time on the vet's table.
The vet reported that all the kittens are girls which confirms my suspicion since week 1.
To follow the Fuji kitten tradition, all of her female kittens will be named after beautiful flowers. I have therefore decided on the following names below:
Aaralyn Mimosa - little MiMi for short (this is the lightest girl with the rudolf nose)
Aaralyn Buttercup (the middle girl)
Aaralyn Bluebell (the largest girl)
Their future parents are free to name these girls whatever they like. These names are for pedigree purposes only. One of these girls will be sold as a show kitten, accordingly a "flashy" name is a must :)
23 May 2008 - Kittens now 1.5 weeks old
Fuji's kittens are growing up very fast and I am thankful that all of them are healthy and big. All of them have started to open their eyes so they now realise that the world is really big!
Unfortunately one of Columbine's black shaded kitten died 2 days ago so after the passing of that kitten I have returned our little adoptee to its original mum. Columbine and her 2 remaining kittens are doing well.
I am still keeping my weight chart but I haven't had the time to update the figures online yet but all of the kittens are now up to 170g which is fantastic for kittens at this age.
18 May 2008 - Kittens almost one week old
The kittens are almost 1 week old today and are doing extremely well. As you can see all of them have already started to lighten up.
If you have good eyes you will notice that there is an extra kitten. Yes you are right. Columbine gave birth to her kittens a few days ago. One of the kittens in that litter is slighter smaller so I have transferred one of the larger kittens to Fuji in hope to free up some extra milk for this little bub. The little one is doing quite well at the moment and is completely spoilt by its mother.
The kitten with a small black dot on its head is Columbine's kitten. It is amazing how big it is already when it is actually 4 days younger than all the others. Fuji is a great mother :)

12 May 2008 - Kittens' first day
All the kittens are doing very well on their first day and mum has now settled down.
As you can see all the kittens are still quite dark at this point as Burmillas tend to be fairly dark when they are born. As they grow, their will gain more undercoat and will lighten up considerably. If you dont believe me you can have a look at the past kitten photos here.
All the kittens have very white heads, which means that they should be fairly clear coated when they grow up. None of them seem to be overly fluffy either which means they are likely to have easy care coat too.
Here you can see that they are fairly dark at this point but the white undercoat will continue to grow. Note the very white heads.
Kittens feeding on mum. Elegant mum not a single hair misplaced.
Kittens feeding again and poor Lotus sulking on my pillow - not impressed.
I uploaded this video on You Tube today.
11 May 2008 - Happy Mothers' Day to Fuji
Happy Mothers' Day to the mums out there and Happy Mothers' Day to our beautiful Fuji too.
As usual, Fuji likes to steal the limelight and gave birth to 3 beautiful kittens tonight.
I was out all day and came home at around 10:30pm and 2 kittens were already born. I then watched and assisted with the last kitten at 11:30pm.
All the kittens and mum are doing fine and at this stage I have no idea regarding the sex of the kittens. I think I have either 2 girls and 1 boy or 2 boys and 1 girl. All the kittens are black shaded silver just like their mummy with very white heads. So hopefully, these kittens will be fairly clear coated as a white head usually means that the kittens shouldn't turn out too dark.
I will post photos of the kittens and Fuji when she look a little more decent. I dont think she will appreciate me putting up photos of her now on her bad hair day!
