26 December 2008 - kittens all gone to their new home
The kittens were actually rehomed about 2 weeks ago and I have had reports from their new parents that they are doing extremely well. Hopefully, we will have some photos of them soon so we can see what they look like now. I took some studio photos of each of the kittens before they were desexed and these are located in the Gallery section.
3 December 2008 - kittens almost 11 weeks
I weighed all the boys last night and all of them are well over 1kg. This means they are all ready for desexing. At this stage I am planning to take them to the vet next Monday 8th December. The vet has agreed to keep them there overnight to monitor their progress and I will be picking them up the next morning. Elizabeth is welcome to pick Mirage and Mystique up on 12th December and I am hoping to send Bonsai and Kenzo off either late Saturday afternoon or early Sunday morning. I will confirm details shortly.
Mystique |
Bonsai (he went into the water bowl after half an hour ago hence his bib looks a bit scrawly. He is a playful one ;)) |
Kenzo |

25 November 2008 - kittens week 10 health check
The kittens went to their week 10 health check yesterday and vet Brian confirmed that they are very healthy and are growing really well. Vet Brian confirmed that the kittens are ready for desexing should they reach the 1 kg mark by 8th Dec. On that day they will be desexed, microchipped and vaccinated for the 2nd booster. Kittens should be ready to go to their new homes on Friday 12 December.
The new owners have come up with some fantastic name this time round. Kevin and Sherin have decided to call their little boys (kitten 1 and 3 - Bonsai and Kenzo). Elizabeth has decided on Mystique for kitten 4 and is still thinking about Mirage for kitten 2. I think the kittens really suit their names.
18 November 2008 - lots of videos
I have so many videos to upload but Youtube is so slow. I have uploaded one so far and will try to do the others later today.

12 November 2008 - Kittens 8 weeks
The kittens are 8 weeks today and have grown so much. They survived their first vaccination last Friday with flying colours.
Now that the kittens have been vaccinated, I have moved them into my room this morningfor some socialisation with my other cats. They now live in a 150cm round tent next to the window. The others come in and out of my room and are quite interested in the kittens.
So far all is going well with Momo and Dinky as expected. Fuji is rather jealous of Lotus coming back into the bed room, so she growls every time she goes pass the tent. In think it will take a few more days for her to accept Lotus and the kittens.
Will take some new photos of them this week.
2 November 2008 - Kittens 6 weeks
The kittens are 6 weeks this week and are running around and have been eating well. Poor kitten 4 ate some paper towel the other day and had some tummy upset but is now well again and is more bouncy than ever.
As you can see, we have some new furniture in the kitten room - a brand new cat tree and little swingy toy. They are already enjoying the swingy toy but might take a few days to get used to the cat post.
Here are some videos of them feeding. The second video is of kitten 2 eating off my hand. Very cute.

28 October 2008 - Kittens 5 weeks
The kittens have had a really big week, they have all started to eat biscuits and chicken and I have been so busy feeding them that I havent had time to take photos and videos. They are now all really active and are starting to develop their own personalities.
I will try and get some photos and videos later on this week.
PS All the kittens have started to use the litter tray. We've had a few boo boos but nothing major so they are doing really well.
15 October 2008 - Kittens 4 weeks
Hi guys I have 4 brand new videos for you all. Again the babies have grown a lot this week and most of them have shown interest in mummy's solid food. Once they can walk confidently, I will introduce the litter tray and some solid food.

Hi guys as promised I have taken some new photos and videos of the kittens today. I know you will all be very amazed to see how much these guys have grown. You will also notice that all of them are a whole lot lighter in colour and they will continue to get lighter as time goes by.
I will refer to the kittens as kitten 1 to 4, in the same order as the weight chart.

8 October 2008 - kittens 3 weeks old tomorrow
Hi guys sorry i haven't been posting updates. The long weekend was busy and I discovered that the battery in the camera was out AGAIN!!!
Anyway, the kittens are doing very well and I have stopped supplementing the smallest boy as of last Friday. I am still weighing them everyday to check on their progress and everyone is doing fine.
I will try and add new photos and videos later on this week.

22 Sept 2008 - Kitten 5th Day
The kittens are doing very well today and all of them have now settled into a good feeding regime. I am still supplementing 2 of the kittens as they are just a tat smaller than the others. This is common as the smaller ones might be girls and girls tend to be lighter.
I have had a few questions in relation to the colour of the kittens. Yes the kittens are all born dark but they do lighten up quite dramatically as they grow. If you dont believe me you can have a look a my past kittens. It really is quite amazing.
18 Sept 2008 - Kitten 2nd Day
The kittens are doing very well today and most have gained some weight. I am now supplementing them 3 times a day with Colostrum. Colostrum is the kitten's first milk with important proteins and other essential ingredients for their survivial.
Here are some photos of them with mummy Lotus.
Lotus wouldn't let leave the kittens so I had to take the photos with her on top of them.
Beautiful Lotus not a single hair misplaced
17 Sept 2008 - 4 beautiful kittens were born this morning
Congratulations to little Miss Lotus for being a new mom to 4 beautiful black shaded/tipped babies. At this stage I can't really tell the sex of the kittens but I could have sworn that I saw a little boy when one of the kittens was stretching this morning. I will probably leave them for a few days before taking a closer look.
Lotus was a good little girl this morning. She waited for me to visit her this morning before having her babies. The whole process was a quick 2 hours and she settled in right away.
The 4 little bubs are feeding very well and mum is looking after them nicely. Will try and take some photos tomorrow.
